Core Values

At Holy Trinity we have seven core values based on the PEBBLES acronym.

  1. Prayer and Praise – We will saturate every decision, every task, every meeting, everything we do in the ever present power of prayer. We will seek to make prayer and vibrant worship of the living God we know in Jesus Christ a central hub of all activity and ministry at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. (Philippians 4:6-7)

  2. Evangelism - Evangelize means to announce the good news of Jesus Christ and the new life He brings. Because all people matter to God, this congregation exists to seek and reach all in our community with a culturally relevant message of the good news of Jesus Christ. Sharing the good news of Jesus Christ permeates everything we do. God wants us to reach out and share his love, forgiveness, and new life through Christ with all people in word and deed. (Romans 1:16)

  3. Bible – We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. As such, we faithfully preach and teach the Word and make it our norm and guide in daily life. We will actively seek to make the reading of God’s Word a daily part of our lives. (2 Timothy 3:16)

  4. Belong – We believe lasting life change happens best in small groups. Because we desire to give outstanding pastoral care to our entire flock, and organize our ministries in the most effective way, we employ the biblical model of a cell based ministry and multiplication. (Acts 2:42)

  5. Love – We accept and love people unconditionally. We speak the truth in love and seek to demonstrate love, care and compassion in all that we say and do. We value the Great Commandment to love God above all else and love our neighbor as ourselves. (John 15:12)
  6. Equip and Edify– Tapping into the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, we will work to transform peoples’ lives and call them beyond membership to radical discipleship. We will equip and edify lay people to be lay leaders and mature disciples of Jesus Christ. We will invest to develop people in ministry, knowing this is a wise investment that will pay dividends for God’s kingdom. Insofar as the Spirit builds people, they will build ministry and further God’s work. (Ephesians 4:12)

  7. Stewardship – We believe God calls us - as individuals and as a church - to be responsible stewards of the spiritual and material gifts God has given us. We do that by nurturing those spiritual gifts and by giving our time, talents, and financial gifts to further God's Kingdom. We give in response to God's goodness towards us and our giving is a barometer of our relationship to God. God calls us to give proportionately to our income and the first-fruits to Him. Tithing is a spiritual discipline where we give away 10% of our wealth. We invite members to grow towards and beyond the biblical model of tithing. (1 Corinthians 16:1-2, 2 Corinthians 9:6-8)
