A. Executive Summary

“The welcome of our community”

In Fall 2004, I&S Engineers & Architects, Inc. (I&S) was selected by the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (HTLC) of New Prague, Minnesota to provide their congregation with a site master plan, herein referred to as the plan. The site master plan for HTLC is defined as a comprehensive study that identifies the current and projected facility needs of the church, both indoor and outdoor spaces, and places them on the site in a manner that considers the unique attributes that site has to offer. As implied, a site master plan places its emphasis on the land and how built forms can be strategically and sensitively integrated with it. Although architectural designs for the buildings will be prepared during a succeeding phase and considered by a future committee, basic forms were suggested and are graphically represented by Options A through E.2.

The purpose of this report is to provide HTLC with a tool to carefully plan its growth. This plan should have flexibility to address changing needs, including those not currently identified. Through the process of preparing it, I&S has endeavored to make the plan a creative reflection of your Mission “to INVITEpeople into a living faith in Jesus Christ, EQUIP them as His disciples, and SEND them to love and serve in Jesus’ name.” The plan, therefore, is beyond a mere assemblage of ideas on paper, but is one that has at its core the spirit of your mission. Within this context, the resulting facilities and experience are really part of a passage in one’s life, a transition or preparation for future service.

As stated in the HTLC Web site home page:

We have much to offer you and know that
you have much to share with us.

Come and visit us and experience the
welcome of our community.
