Confirmation

What is confirmation?

It's a period of instruction (three years) when our youth get to know God and His Son, Jesus Christ, more fully than ever before. And, it's a time when they will build stronger, deeper relationships with their peers and their mentors.

The Mission of Confirmation at Holy Trinity is to nurture our youth in an intentionally Christ-centered context so they may experience and claim God's love and peace in their lives.

The Vision of Confirmation is to offer a program that leads students and mentors into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ through a great understanding of their life and faith as a Christian.

Tell Me More

  1. Confirmation is a 3-year program at Holy Trinity beginning with 6th grade, which culminates in their being confirmed the fall of their 9th grade year on the first Sunday in October.

  2. Our Confirmation program draws from a variety of resources, particularly Youth Alpha, curriculum from Augsburg Fortress, and material that has been written by leaders in the church. Each of these are a fresh and creative approach to reaching young people with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Movie clips, music, and skits are incorporated with each of the weekly talks, which makes it very fun and interactive for both the students and the mentors.

  3. Confirmation is held on Wednesday nights, September through May from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. We meet as a large group from 7:00 p.m. - 7:40 p.m., and then break into our mentor groups from 7:40 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Twice a year after our Highway Clean-Up, we return to church for Pizza Night, and we also involve our parents for Parent's Night, which takes place twice a year. In addition, we participate in a Food Drive every fall.

How Can We Sign Up?

Students in grades 6, 7, and 8 may sign up. If you missed confirmation orientation (held in the fall) you can find the registration forms, manual, and mp3 files of the orientation meetings on our Forms and Documents page under Junior High Ministry.
