We are excited to offer a new year of engaging faith enriching ideas for your confirmation kids. We have purchased an engaging new curriculum which is called “Head to Heart” confirmation from Faith Inkubators in Stillwater Mn.
The Head to the Heart resources and system are a complete, parent-involved, small group ministry approach that challenge churches and parents to grow confirmation instruction into confirmation ministry.
The goal of H2H is not just to "get through" the junior high years but to teach content so it sticks in young minds, grow junior high small groups into senior high small groups, and to equip families to be involved in faith dialogue with each other at home.
H2H resources equip pastors with presentation tools to engage kids, provide small group leaders with guidance to process the subject in their small groups, and gift families with nightly devotions to explore the topic at home using a simple framework to keep family communication lines open during the crucial teen years.
To a kid, friends are of the utmost importance. Head to the Heart harnesses the power of these friendships with small groups building a network of care at church and at home as the context for learning. Small groups learn, serve, and play as they bond together as living cells in the body of Christ. These activities are solidified with simple but effective nightly family devotions—tying what is taught at church with what is talked about at home.
It’s hard to make a Biblical case that someone other than a child’s parents should be their primary faith mentors, teachers and role models. In Head to the Heart, we also head to the home. In our model, a good portion of youth ministry is done in the youth’s home. Church is simply the place that gets the family started on a theme that continues in a Nightly Home Huddle™ conversation with kids.
We are blessed to get to know your teens and you will be blessed as you learn and are supported to know them better and dig a little deeper in your time together each night.
Please consider helping us teach and reach your kids this year. Parents support and modeling is the FIRST line of defense in a world pulling your kids away from church and God. We need your help to create a faith that “sticks”.
Here are the areas you will be asked to consider giving your time and talents:
Mentor-weekly connection and support during confirmation
Mentor support- assisting the Mentors to keep track of requirements, etc..
Ministry support- assisting confirmation leader with admin, and organizing throughout the year.
Sound/video help-run sound board for music and PowerPoint during presentation each week.
Drama- help with skits during the year- assemble a team of teens (they love this) to perform impromptu silliness.
Fun/games-assisting mentors and teams in creating games and get togethers during the year and for occasional outings.
Chaperones- drivers needed to cart kids back and forth to retreats, camp, and outings.
Appetite control- donates and prepares snacks occasionally for fun/game nights, retreats, etc..

What is confirmation?
It's a period of instruction (three years) when our youth get to know God and His Son, Jesus Christ, more fully than ever before. And, it's a time when they will build stronger, deeper relationships with their peers and their mentors.
The Mission of Confirmation at Holy Trinity is to nurture our youth in an intentionally Christ-centered context so they may experience and claim God's love and peace in their lives.
The Vision of Confirmation is to offer a program that leads students and mentors into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ through a great understanding of their life and faith as a Christian.
Confirmation is a 3-year program at Holy Trinity beginning with 6th grade, which culminates in their being confirmed the fall of their 9th grade year on the first Sunday in October.
Confirmation is held on Wednesday nights, September through May from
7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. We meet as a large group from 7:00 p.m. - 7:40 p.m., and then break into our mentor groups from 7:40 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
