Ministry Opportunities 2010-11

Worship Service Assistants

Usher: Help pass out bulletins, direct worshippers, collect offering, and pick up the sanctuary after services. Serve for one month of the year at the 9:00 or 10:30 service.
Saturday Worship Assistant: Combines the role of usher, host, reader, and communion helper. Help out once every 4-5 weeks on Saturdays at 5:00.
Communion Server: Help serve communion to worshippers - approximately once a month.
Reader: Read the Scripture readings during the worship service - approximately once a month.
Tape Recorder: Tape record one of the three worship services for weekly radio broadcast - approximately once a month.
Sound Technician: Assist with sound during 10:30 service - approximately once a month.
PowerPoint Technician: Assist with PowerPoint at either the 9:00 or 10:30 service - approximately once a month.
Altar Guild: Prepare elements for communion services. Help out twice a month for one month per year. Total time commitment is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours per month (about 1.5 hours on the first weekend of the month and about 10 minutes on the other weekend).

Children, Youth, and Family Ministries

Special Events Caregiver: Help provide childcare at various church meetings such as baptism or new member classes, church-wide meetings, or other events. Special events occur approximately once a month.
Sunday School Ministry Team: The Fellowship Hall host’s Children’s Church at 9:00 and 10:30 on Sunday mornings for grades K-5 while our 4 year olds are in traditional classrooms. The Sunday School Team is looking for adults and youth who are interested in volunteering in the following areas: crafts, music, teacher, and preparation work.
LOGOS: LOGOS is our midweek program for 3rd – 5th graders. The program runs on Wednesdays, 5:00 to 7:00 (meal provided), from September through May. Parent participation is a required component. Helpers needed in the following areas: Bible Study leaders, worship leaders, table parents, child care coordinators, cooks, shoppers, and set-up/clean-up.
Vacation Bible School: Our week-long VBS is held annually in June. Music, skits, crafts, snacks and Bible lessons are offered to the children as they rotate between stations. Many volunteers, adults and teens, are needed to host this exciting week.

Family Ministries

Family Ministries Team: Organize and implement activities and educational opportunities for families as a valuable way to meet one another and engage in fun fellowship while sharing the love of the Lord.U

Middle School Ministries

Help when needed: Help periodically for various events when needed.

Senior High Ministries

Help when needed: Help periodically for various events when needed.

Adult Ministries

Men's Ministries Team: Help plan monthly men’s breakfast and other annual events. Meets once a month.

Prayer Ministry

Intercessor: Participate in weekly Prayer for the Pastors (meeting times vary) or be a part of Holy Trin ity’s Prayer Chains (e-mail and/or phone).
Prayer Shawl Ministry: Meets on the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Come join us for an evening of fellowship, knitting and crocheting shawls for those in need. You do not have to attend every meeting, just come when you can.

Music and Arts Ministries

Celebrate Worship Team: Full band and vocalists for 7th grade - adults. Leads worship at the 10:30 service and practices the Thursday evening prior to singing. Members of the team are part of a rotational schedule and sing/play approximately once a month.
Handbell Choir: Handbell choir for 9th grade - adults. Plays and practices once a month.
Special Music: We encourage a special music offering at all of our worship services. If you have a special musical gift you'd like to share please let us know!
Disciples with F.O.A.M. (Faith Of A Mustard seed) Puppets: A puppet ministry for age 13 – adults. Meets Sundays from 4:00 - 6:00 during the school year, and Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 in the summer.
Drama Team: Perform skits in the Worship Services when requested.
Annual Children’s Christmas Program: Assist with our annual Christmas Program production in the areas of sound and lighting, set design, costumes and props, or programs and posters.

Outreach and Assimilation Ministries

New Member Sponsor: Attend the new member dinner, participate in the reception of new mem bers service the following Sunday, pray for the new members and help them feel welcome.
Heaven's Helping Hands Team: This team serves as a good example of the “hands and feet of Christ,” helping individuals and families in times of their greatest need. Some areas include pre paring meals for those in need, helping with our annual garage sale, participating in world mis sions (Tanzania and Jamaica), preparing food baskets and gifts for needy children at Christmas, and other tangible ways to bring Christ’s love to others. Team members meet once a month and attend meetings when they are able to.
Visitation Ministry: This team participates in visiting those who are homebound, ill, or just appreci ate a personal visit. Visits are made once a month or more, depending on each situation.

Other Ministry Teams and Workgroups

Hospitality Team/General Kitchen Help: Help create an environment of a warm Christian welcome to all through serving meals (three times a year, including new member dinners) and coffee and donuts on Sunday mornings. Help whenever you can. Be on a list to help out in the kitchen on an as-needed basis throughout the year. Serve prepared pies for our first new mem ber class, Pie with the Pastor.

Lenten Work Group: Help prepare and serve Soup Supper meals on Wednesday evenings during the Lenten Season. Sign up for one or more soup suppers during Lent.
Property Team: Assist with performing and organizing the maintenance of the church property. Including, but not limited to, lawn mowing, snow removal, landscaping/horticulture, parking lot repair/maintenance, add/change/repair/maintain all exterior church property.
Building Maintenance Team: Assist with performing and organizing the maintenance of the church building. Including, but not limited to, carpentry, painting, cleaning, electrical, and plumbing maintenance and repair.
Technology Support Team: Assist with performing and organizing the maintenance of the technology used to conduct our mission. Including, but not limited to, sound systems, web sites, computer systems and software programs.
Seasonal Decorating: Help decorate our sanctuary for Christmas.

Sign Changer: Change our outdoor sign once a week for one month per year.
Stewardship Team: Assist in providing ongoing awareness and education on good stewardship. Meets once a month on Wednesday evenings.
General Workgroup: Be a set of helping hands to assist with a variety of needs such as set-up/take down of tables.
